NFL contracts are heavily scrutinized by fans http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-oshane-ximines-jersey , reporters, and observers largely because the league utilizes a hard salary cap. There is no luxury tax to pay if a franchise goes over the limit. Teams that are handcuffed by poor contract investments are often unable to improve rosters because of a lack of available cash underneath the cap. Fortunately, the majority of NFL contracts include only so much guaranteed money, meaning teams can part ways with players who don’t perform to the monetary values of their deals. Eventually, just about every veteran in the league can be replaced by a younger entity who costs less money against the cap; unless we’re talking about Tom Brady Julian Love Jersey , that is. One thing that should be remembered is that a contract that appears to be a decent investment, on paper, can also be a poor one over time. After all, it made all kinds of sense earlier this year for the Philadelphia Eagles to keep a high-priced backup quarterback, but it now appears that the Eagles should have traded that individual while he would have fetched a decent return in a transaction. The Houston Texans are paying the man widely believed to be the best defensive player on the planet a fortune even though he hasn’t been worth a fraction of that price over the past couple of years. Spend wisely http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-darius-slayton-jersey , NFL general managers. In the National Football League, defensive coordinators spend countless hours each week trying to prepare their teams for their next opponent's offense. They tweak their schemes and formations, adjust personnel packages, and draw up their list of stunts, coverages Quinnen Williams Jersey , and blitzes that they hope will confuse opposing offenses and/or put the defense in a position to make the play. But if the defenders can't tackle the ball carrier, all of this preparation is for naught. That's why NFL players who are hard to tackle are so valuable to their teams. Because even when a defense does everything right, an offensive play can still succeed if a player can avoid or run over a tackler (or two or three). And this trait is one that is very difficult to teach. Given that contact practices are being limited throughout all levels of football, it becomes that much harder for a player to get the repetitions they need to develop a consistent ability to break tackles or juke defenders. Therefore, a running back http://www.jetsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jachai-polite-jersey , receiver, kick returner, or quarterback who does possess the ability to cause "unsuccessful" tackles is worth his weight in gold.Of course, NFL fans absolutely love to see players who are difficult to bring down. Watching a ball carrier dodge, duck under Chuma Edoga Jersey , or power through tackles is exciting and awe-inspiring. That's why some of the greats are so popular even today - whether it's tanks like Earl Campbell and Bronco Nagurski or magicians like Emmett Smith or Barry Sanders. With people who can shrug off tacklers, the play is never over until the referee's whistle sounds. So who are the players in the NFL today who cause dread in the hearts of defensive coaches? Here are 25 men who are the hardest to bring to the ground in today's NFL.

From rags to riches and back to rags again. It’s a cautionary tale all too common among NFL players who aren’t properly equipped to manage the wealth they earn while playing in the league or deal with their newfound fame. Without any experience with that kind of cash or training on how best to invest http://www.thebengalsfootballauthentic.com/michael-jordan-jersey-authentic , players oftentimes end up drowning in a sea of debt when they leave the league and the money stops rolling in.It’s easy to see how it happens. They go from zero income while playing college ball, straight to the pros, where they’re cashing weekly checks that have a string of zeros at the end just waiting to be spent on things they’d never been able to afford before. Plus http://www.clevelandbrownsteamonline.com/sione-takitaki-jersey , those playoff and performance bonuses make for some nice little windfalls. Before they know it, NFLers can get consumed with material belongings. They own three big houses, four cars Sheldrick Redwine Jersey , a fleet of jet skis and gaudy, expensive jewelry without so much as a dime set aside for the future. Then, the property taxes Kaleb McGary Jersey , the maintenance bills and the loan repayments start piling up just in time for the end of their playing days, and they end up broke as a joke with nothing but useless luxuries and a mountain of debt. Here is a list of 15 of those poor souls who never saw it coming and are now poorer than even you. It is often said that one of the keys to success in the NFL is having a great QB/RB/WR trio. Although defense wins teams a championship in many cases, having a great trio at the skill positions on offense certainly can't hurt. Some might say that teams like the 49ers of the '80s and the high octane offenses from the Bills and Cowboys of the '90s set the tone for what football fans are seeing today. These three franchises put an emphasis on building their teams around these positions. They all enjoyed tremendous success for many years thanks to how well they built their teams around these core positions. This is a legacy that hasn't been forgotten.Although the old school grind it out on offense/dominate defense philosophy can still be very successful in today's league Kendall Sheffield Jersey , there is no question that more and more teams have put an emphasis on finding a QB/RB/WR trio. Finding a trio that will gel and take the team to the next level is easier said than done. When looking back over the past few decades it is clear that we have seen some amazing trios of athletes come together on NFL teams. Front offices took note of the incredible success the aforementioned offenses had back in their day and have tried to emulate them. This list will make note of the very best QB/RB/WR trios from each franchise and rank them. So get ready to flash back to the distant past as well as the more recent past and see who we think are the best QB/RB/WR trios ever.

Javier Baez put on a show for the Chicago Cubs and appeared to nail his audition for a high-profile role later this summer.

Baez hit two home runs Will Harris Jersey , including a grand slam, Jon Lester won his sixth consecutive start and the Cubs ended a five-game losing streak with a 9-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.

Baez homered in consecutive innings, giving him 16 on the season, and finished with four hits. He hit a solo shot off Dodgers starter Ross Stripling in the fifth inning and his bases-loaded shot in the sixth into the Dodgers’ bullpen came against reliever Edward Paredes.

And he did all of his damage in front of Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who just happens to be the National League’s manager in the All-Star Game next month.

”I have been saying for a couple of years, the moment he stops swinging at sliders in the dirt, he becomes Manny Ramirez . and he’s getting closer,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon said of Baez. ”And I think he is a better defender than Manny was . and baserunner. And Manny, I still love you.”

Baez said he was inspired to play at Dodger Stadium, but not necessarily because Roberts was watching him from the top step.

”I love it here,” Baez said. ”The (Dodgers) fans are pretty close to ours. I like playing here and I like the energy they have for their team. This is a team we will see for a long time Austin Bryant Jersey , hopefully in the playoffs, and it is always going to be a good competition.”

Stripling gave up just one run over five innings before the Cubs broke open the game with six runs off the bullpen. Yimi Garcia (1-2) gave up three of them. The Dodgers lost for just the sixth time in 22 games in June.

”I think they’re a really good lineup,” Stripling said. ”Obviously Lester on the mound makes them good, too. I think they’re a good benchmark for us to see how we’re playing.”

It was Baez’s fourth multi-homer game and his second this season. His grand slam was the fourth of his career.

Lester (10-2) gave up two runs on four hits over five innings. It was his shortest outing by innings since April 11, when he also went five against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and his 82 pitches were his fewest since throwing 71 on opening day in Miami.

”Obviously any time you’re taken out of a game you’re not happy, (but) I respect the decision,” Lester said. ”(Maddon’s) my manager and I always stand behind him. But I’m a competitor and I want to pitch innings.”

Lester has a 1.73 ERA over his last 11 starts, going back to April 30, and hasn’t lost since May 23. He is tied with Washington’s Max Scherzer for the NL lead in wins.

Cody Bellinger had two of the Dodgers’ four hits off Lester and now has 19 hits in his past 18 games, including seven of his 15 home runs.

The Dodgers have a major league-leading 48 home runs in June but did not hit one Tuesday.

The Cubs sent nine batters to the plate in their big sixth inning. Adison Russell and Ben Zobrist hit RBI singles in the frame to go along with Baez’s grand slam. Willson Contreras added an RBI single in the eighth inning and Albert Almora had an RBI single in the ninth.

The Dodgers’ Enrique Hernandez and Justin Turner each stole third base uncontested in the eighth inning with the Cubs’ infield overloaded on the right side in an extreme defensive shift. Hernandez and Turner both ended up scoring in the inning.

CHILI SAUCE

Cubs hitting coach Chili Davis held a short meeting Tuesday for the hitters and it turned into a nine-run Rashan Gary Jersey , 15-hit night for a club starved for offense.

”I want to believe (the meeting) had something to do with it,” Maddon said. ”(Opposite-field) hits by Almora and Contreras I loved. And of course, Javy had a nice day. I’m still looking forward to, as we get more mature in the batter’s box, that we chase less. I love homers like everybody else does, but there are so many other ways to score.”

ROUGH DAY FOR PUIG

The Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig was doubled off trying to scramble back to first base in the second inning, failed to grab Ian Happ’s line drive into the gap in right-center for an error in the sixth, and twice allowed the Cubs to take an extra base on throws back to the infield.

The Dodgers came into the sixth inning with a 2-1 lead and left trailing 7-2.

”I thought the ball was a little further away and when I was trying to run it down I kind of lost it in the lights and that’s when we lost the game,” Puig said of missing Happ’s liner.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Cubs: 3B Kris Bryant (left shoulder inflammation) was placed on the 10-day DL, retroactive to June 23, but is not expected to miss more than 10 days Darnell Savage Jr. Jersey , Maddon. … RHP Yu Darvish (right triceps tendinitis) will throw a bullpen this week before the Cubs decide if he will need another rehab start or rejoin the active roster.

Dodgers: RHP Walker Buehler (right rib microfracture) threw a full-intensity bullpen session and the Dodgers will discuss the possibility of an upcoming minor league rehab start. … INF/OF Chris Taylor (sore left hamstring) did not start but had a pinch-hit single in the fifth inning as the club is trying to avoid a DL move. … RHP Pedro Baez (right biceps tendinitis) threw a bullpen at about 70-percent effort, according to Roberts, and is expected to throw another bullpen Friday.

UP NEXT

Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks (5-7, 3.73 ERA) has lost four of his last five starts. Dodgers left-hander Alex Wood (3-5, 4.13) has won his last two starts after giving up 15 combined runs over his previous three out Simply put, the NFL is the ultimate destination. It is the Holy Grail, from which thousands of collegiate athletes hope to drink every year, and which only the most elite of the elite ever get to grasp. Sure, there are other outlets for the gridiron combatants who don’t make it to the big time—the Canadian Football League, the Arena Football League—but the National Football League and its 32 teams are the highest standard of success a football player can achieve. Not everyone who enters the league becomes a star, but to even have a chance to be part of the conversation hints at indisputable greatness. But what of life thereafter? What of the day when the famous quarterback lobs his last touchdown Elgton Jenkins Jersey , of when the vicious defensive lineman lands his final sack? It’s no secret that the field life of a professional athlete is short, especially for those who compete in such a brutal sport as football at such a level as the NFL. These players only get so many seasons to earn the seven or eight figure salaries and to make their legacies. Once their time is up, whether by injury or declining ability or just knowing when the time is right, they must find a way to life without the game that has defined them since young adulthood. Some move on to discover even further greatness, second careers in coaching, broadcasting, or even acting. Others meet life after football like a brick wall.

It’s week two of the regular season and the Carolina Panthers have a perfect record so far. That’s the good news. The bad news Youth Taylor Moton Jersey , is the offensive line is completely decimated by injury, Greg Olsen re-injured his foot, and there is a major hurricane named Florence barreling toward North and South Carolina with the potential to make water polo the only sport anyone can even consider playing in Charlotte. In other words...Regardless of all of this, the Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons have a game to play this Sunday, one that is thankfully scheduled to be played under the roof at Mercedes-Benz stadium in Georgia. I would take this opportunity to make a joke about Chic-Fil-A not being available, but at least the people of Atlanta will probably possess the capacity to make other chicken this weekend, unlike us.Both teams come in with their fair share of injuries. with the Atlanta Falcons losing Keanu Neal and Deion Jones to season ending injuries to match the Panthers losing Greg Olsen and Daryl Williams. The net result is going to be banged up defense versus a banged up offense, and this could potentially be a lower scoring game than the two sides are used to in these yearly contests. In the end, I think it is going to boil down to which team can ultimately buy their quarterback enough time Stitched Taylor Moton Jersey , and while that would seem to favor Atlanta, there could be a lot more broken coverages to exploit for Cam Newton rather than Matt Ryan. I expect a close contest, and hopefully I’ll be able to watch it.With that final thought in mind, I figured with most of our audience under threat of this hurricane, this would be a good week to roll out a non-perishable treat that you can make regardless of having power or not. You can go ahead and make this now while you do, but you could even make this with the help of a simple gas stove or outdoor grill.Loaded Rice Krispie Treatshttps://insidebrucrewlife.com/monster-cookie-rice-krispie-treats/The recipe this week is courtesy of insidebrucrewlife.com, and in the interest of not robbing them of clicks, I’d say visit the above link and check it out there. All of you reading in the Carolinas, stay safe out there Youth Curtis Samuel Jersey , we at Cat Scratch Reader hope all of you pull through this storm with all friends, family, and property intact. Always...KEEP POUNDING. Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across the NFL powered by SurveyMonkey. Each week, we send 32 polls to 100+ plugged in fans from each team. Panthers fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse. The Panthers didn’t play last week due to their bye, but they did make their team better after picking up free agent safety Eric Reid. This move to improve the defense gave Panthers fans a bit more confidence heading into their Week 5 clash with the Giants, and our Week 5 FanPulse results show that improvement. 90% of our fans who participated in our survey are confident in the direction of the franchise, up 2% from last week. Giants fans Stitched Curtis Samuel Jersey , however, are not feeling the love.54% of Giants fans who took part in the survey were confident in their team’s direction in Week 4. Now, only 18% of their fans are confident. Nerd Alert: That’s a 36% differential. I guess that’s what happens when you’re 1-3 following a 33-18 walloping from the Saints. If there’s one thing that both groups of fans can agree on, it’s who will win the game on Sunday. Both Panthers and Giants fans agree that the Panthers will leave Week 5 victorious. The only disagreement between the two groups of fans is the point differential. Panthers fans believe the Panthers will win the game by 10 points, while Giants fans believe the Panthers will win by six. Captain Obvious alert: Hopefully the fans are right about this, because being 3-1 is much better than being 2-2.What do you think, Panthers fans? Are you still confident? Do you think the Panthers will beat the Giants on Sunday? Why or why not? Share your thoughts with us!

Four more spots in the 2019 NFL Draft order were set with the weekend’s results Game Mark Andrews Jersey , and the Raiders now know exactly where they’ll be making their three first-round picks. The Eagles slotted into the 25th spot in the order after yesterday’s loss, followed by the Colts, Cowboys and Chargers. The final four picks will go to the losers of next week’s conference championship games, then the Super Bowl loser and the champion. And since the Cowboys traded their pick to the Raiders in the Amari Cooper deal, the Raiders are now sitting on the fourth, 24th (from the Bears in the Khalil Mack deal), and 27th in the first round. That’s a lot of valuable real estate for a team that doesn’t have a home at the moment Mark Andrews Womens Jersey , and a good start for coach Jon Gruden and new General Manager Mike Mayock to begin a long rebuild.Here鈥檚 a look at the draft order as it stands after the divisional round games:1. Cardinals 3-132. 49ers 4-123. Jets 4-124. Raiders 4-125. Buccaneers 5-116. Giants 5-117. Jaguars 5-118. Lions 6-109. Bills 6-1010. Broncos 6-1011. Bengals 6-1012. Packers 6-9-113. Dolphins 7-914. Falcons 7-915. Washington 7-916. Panthers 7-917. Browns 7-8-118 Vikings 8-7-119. Titans 9-720. Steelers 9-6-121. Seahawks 10-622. Ravens 10-623. Texans 11-524. Raiders (via Bears 12-4)25. Eagles 9-726. Colts 10-627. Raiders (via Cowboys 10-6)28. Chargers 12-4 The Vikings, Broncos, Texans and Ravens being off in Week 10 means there are plenty of bye week players to replace in lineups. You'll be without the likes of Adam Thielen, Kirk Cousins, Phillip Lindsay, Emmanuel Sanders, DeAndre Hopkins and Deshaun Watson this week. Work the waiver wire aggressively and with a forward-looking focus.RUNNING BACKSDUKE JOHNSON JR. Youth Mark Andrews Jersey , Browns (49.6 percent owned): He was cut in some very competitive leagues recently, but a coaching overhaul in Cleveland has led to Johnson quickly regaining fantasy relevance. Johnson caught nine passes for 78 yards on Sunday, and with the Browns lacking a quality second wideout he should remain in the flow going forward. Make him a top waiver priority or be willing to spend handsomely if your league uses a free agent acquisition budget. If you need RB help in a point-per-reception format, don't hesitate to spend 50 to 60 percent of your budget.MIKE DAVIS, Seahawks (18.5): He totaled 107 yards from scrimmage and caught seven passes on Sunday as Chris Carson could not make it out of the early stages of the game. Carson is already looking iffy this week with hip and groin problems and he has been a consistent injury concern. Davis is clearly preferred by the Seattle coaching staff over Rashaad Penny and faces the league's worst run defense (the Rams) in Week 10.JOSH ADAMS (3.0): We advised picking him up last week but he was only added in 2.5 percent of leagues. Many owners passed on him because Adams was on a bye week. Don't overlook players who have byes, when you can get the jump on passive league mates. Adams may start for the Eagles coming off the bye.WIDE RECEIVERSMARQUES VALDES-SCANTLING (20.8): Not enough owners paid attention to injury news late last week, which indicated Geronimo Allison would likely be out with a groin injury Mark Andrews Men Jersey , boosting Valdes-Scantling's outlook again. Now Allison may be done for the season and Randall Cobb is oft-injured and only had 24 receiving yards last week. The rookie has either reached 100 yards or scored in his last four games and has quickly risen to fantasy WR3 status.ADAM HUMPHRIES, Buccaneers (2.8): In the past, he had flashed some potential to be a decent fantasy player, then totally defied expectations in Week 9 with eight catches for 82 yards and two TD receptions. He used to be more of a Jameis Winston favorite, but Ryan Fitzpatrick can use him as a reliable option from the slot.JOHN ROSS, Bengals (8.1): Ross has started to practice as he anticipates a potential return from a groin injury, and with A.J. Green possibly missing two games or more with a toe problem Color Rush Mark Andrews Jersey , Ross becomes a viable waiver target because of increased opportunity. Tyler Boyd may get extra defensive attention during Green's absence, and Ross will likely be more targeted more frequently. His big-play promise is no secret to seasoned fantasy players.TIGHT ENDSC.J. UZOMAH, Bengals (18.2): He has disappointed since becoming the clear No. 1 at his position in Cincinnati because of injuries, but Uzomah also still has some lingering appeal because of the Green injury. Andy Dalton will always consider his tight ends when inside the 10-yard line, and Uzomah has some TD potential while Green is out.JEFF HEUERMAN, Broncos (7.9): Here's a guy on a bye that you need to add now if TE is a desperation need. Heuerman immediately stepped into the Demaryius Thomas void left by the WR's departure, catching 10 passes for 83 yards and a TD in a career performance. While his statistical ceiling may not be as high as those numbers indicate going forward Mark Andrews Jersey Boys , you have to take a waiver chance on the improved production possibly lasting more than one game.QUARTERBACKLAMAR JACKSON, Ravens (1.5): This is a forward-looking waiver move where you possibly can get ahead of the rest of the league, as Baltimore is on a bye. Joe Flacco has four TD passes in his past five games and 398 passing yards with one TD and two interceptions in his last two outings. There could be a QB change coming in Baltimore soon. Jackson looked like an erratic passer in the preseason, but his rushing and playmaking skills point to some tantalizing fantasy possibilities if he gets inserted into the Ravens guiding role.

In his comments after the NFC Championship Game Black Mohamed Sanu Jersey , Saints head coach Sean Payton said that he doesn’t want to see other teams find themselves on the wrong side of missed calls and being a member of the NFL Competition Committee puts him in position to address the issue. One of the solutions bandied about in the last few days has been expanding the use of replay review to cover penalties, although that idea has received pushback from some in the league. That group included another Competition Committee member in Cowboys exec Stephen Jones and the chairman of the committee has shared some thoughts as well.Falcons president Rich McKay said on SiriusXM NFL Radio that the “unintended consequences” of making penalties reviewable is that the whole play comes up for review. In his example that would mean a challenge for pass interference would open the door for an offensive holding penalty or other flag to be thrown.“All of those things need to be talked about,” McKay said. “It doesn’t mean it’s not possible, but it does mean that you need to figure out exactly how you’d implement and not impact the game negatively.”McKay said the key questions to answer are what’s the standard and what’s going to be reviewed. The coming months will provide more information about how much those questions are being debated and how determined the league is to make any changes to the status quo.Blame game won’t fix Falcons as season slips away The Atlanta Falcons have fallen to 1-4. As Falcons Twitter maven Evan Birchfield noted, no team has ever made it to the Super Bowl after a 1-4 start. Unfortunately, 2018 might well be over. The reason for the slip? There are many, but Steve in Brooklyn put it well on Twitter himself recently. Blame dirty, rotten luck.Injury City Go back to the second Keanu Neal went down, and then Deion Jones went down, and Devonta Freeman went down, and then Ricardo Allen went down, and then Takk McKinley missed a game Stitched Kemal Ishmael Jersey , and then Desmond Trufant got hurt on a drive that let up a touchdown, and Justin Bethel went down, and Andy Levitre went down, and Derrick Shelby went down, and Grady Jarrett went down...you get where this is going. Sign up for FanPulse, our weekly Falcons survey. The Falcons came into 2018 with everything they needed to compete. Sure, you could say the defensive line didn’t have enough firepower, but you could survive that if the linebacking corps and secondary did what we all thought it was capable of. That offense? Well, it secretly was actually really good without any of us knowing it, though we didn’t see much of that Sunday. If this team had not gotten smitten (smited? smitered?) by the bug of injury, they might be undefeated right now. They might not, given the state of the defensive line Youth Kemal Ishmael Jersey , but the You know, you can’t regulate luck. You either have it, or you don’t. Right now, the Falcons are running on empty in a car with two flat tires careening towards a flaming lake. And it’s really not the team’s fault that they’re here. Blame, Shame and Game It’s fair to question if the team did everything it could’ve to make this not as bad as it could’ve been. When Neal went down, one wonders what would’ve happened if they’d just signed Eric Reid and let him get acclimated to the system. But then again, they also lost Debo and Devonta in that game. It was never just as simple as replacing one person, even if that would have staved off some o the criticism. There’s no denying this defense is a problem. It’s an abysmal, injury-riddled shell of its former self. But do any of you think the Falcons could’ve just snapped their fingers to replace the heart, soul, brain and physical punishing force that Neal brought? We can be critical that a good safety like Reid was out there for the taking, but he was really it. There was no easy cure for losing Debo Stitched Justin Hardy Jersey , and should we really be all that critical of Dan Quinn wanting to see what he had in-house? Particularly when he knew what his offense was capable of? It’s fair to wonder if they waited too long to settle all of this once it was clear the in-house options weren’t working, but it was always just Reid. I’m still peeved they didn’t make that move, but would it have really made that much of a difference? The offense has struggled on the road against outdoor teams with ferocious pass rushes. But they always used to do that. These are the types of games where defense is supposed to take over and make life easier on the offense. When the defense is virtually nonexistent, the good, even the best, offenses take a step back. It’s fair to want more from what the Falcons have right now, but it’s not fair to want what was promised. That has been ripped away by the cruel specter of chance, and it won’t return until guys heal up and replacement guys can get comfortable in their new roles, and that may not come soon enough. The missed tackles and busted coverages hurt, but a lot of that comes down to a lack of communication. Having your quarterback sacked six times stinks to high heaven, but that happens on the road sometimes against a pass rush willing to pin their ears back, even if it doesn’t say anything great about the line. We can coach from the sidelines as to who should play when Youth Justin Hardy Jersey , and why this guy is in or this guy is out, but there is method to the madness as to why they’ve done what they’ve done. It might not have gone as well as hoped, but there wasn’t a lot they could do. Aim for the Right TargetNo, the Falcons cannot compete against good teams like we planned on them doing right now. They’ve not navigated this period of malcontent with perfection, but they’re doing the best they can. They tried to lean on what they had, but it wasn’t good enough. Perhaps this team knows deep down what its limitations were without its favored sons. Perhaps we all expected too much when the foundation fell out on the house, including the team. Perhaps the season really was lost when the rain started to fall on that slippery Philadelphia field, and none of us knew it. So stop blaming Dan Quinn. He technically made the moves in the 2018 offseason to fix the offense and fielded what looked like for about a quarter-and-a-half against the Eagles to be a nasty defense (before it would become, well, a nasty defense). Stop blaming Matt Ryan, who looked like an MVP for most of September after that first dud before struggling on the road to win games by himself. Stop blaming Steve Sarkisian, who has wrung real improvement out of the offense after a rigid 2017 and who can’t do a ton when his offensive line can’t block. Stop blaming the defense as it is Stitched Matt Schaub Jersey , a ragtag assembly of guys out of position and out of their comfort zones, without the leadership, skill matching and communication necessary to really succeed. Stop blaming some imaginary Atlanta curse that supposedly looms over the city’s sports teams, even if it seems like that sometimes. Blame the bad draw. Blame the frustrating inevitability of what happens when the injuries begin to pile up. 2019 might actually be a huge change of fortune if the Falcons can actually field the team they planned on fielding, which will depend on better injury luck and some cap magic. Yes, 2018 might be good and dead by now, but that’s not wholly on the Atlanta Falcons. It was poor luck, more than anything, that got this team to where they are today.

He is a pro’s pro. And the one thing I’ve appreciated the most since we’ve drafted him. The kid has an unbelievable amount of mental toughness. You saw that last year as he took a beating and we went through the injuries that we went through up front. Physical toughness, mental toughness --Josh Rosen has it all.”Yet, in light of the abusive way in which the Cardinals keep letting Rosen take hit after hit after hit, one could readily imagine that Rosen is spending his 4 hours daily at the Cardinals’ OTAs these weeks, bound, bubble-wrapped and gagged in the equipment manager’s office reading the LA Times and listening to the latest Joel Klatt interviews on The Herd. The essential outcome of the press conference was that Barry, acting like ever the obsequious sycophant to NoHo Hank managed to say nothing meaningful in a series of terse platitudes---and that NoHo, acting like the new “big bruh” alpha in the room, managed to say nothing meaningful through a monotonous drone of circumlocutions. And now...What Barry and NoHo really need is Hollywood legend (in his own mind), director turned acting coach, Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler), to arrive at team headquarters quickly and with great urgency---because Barry’s and NoHo’s next gig will be broadcasted from Nashville Tennessee, this time before a national audience on April 25th.You see---Barry and NoHo need Gene Cousineau more now than ever because Baby Haason Reddick Jersey , Barry and NoHo now find themselves squarely in the midst of a tragic, irreconcilable dilemma---If QB Kyler Murray does wind up being the Cardinals #1 pick, Barry and NoHo will then have to explain how they just turned their backs on a young QB who is already a “pro’s pro, who has it all.”Or, on the flip side, if they shun Murray and take Nick Bosa or Quinnen Wiilliams they are going to have to explain why they catered like mules to a process that put their QB of “right now” squarely in the crosshairs of NFL pundits, critics and skeptics---for three long, excruciating months. As if three months of 45 sacks and 100 QB hits back in October to December weren’t enough? As Ellis Boyd Redding (aka “Red”) said in the Shawshank Redemption, “Every man has his breaking point.”But....you just know, the gag order on Josh Rosen can’t last forever. The world deserves to know his version of the soap opera. At least, Gene Cousineau is smart enough to know that Barry and NoHo will need to scratch the line “we were doing our due diligence” from the current script. That’s the first place to start. Beyond that, Cousineau may not be able to spare Barry and NoHo from the inevitable denouement that their bad acting has sprung---a good ol’ barrage of rotten tomatoes. With each day the proverbial smoke gets heavier and heavier. The Arizona Cardinals allegedly convened today to discuss what they plan to do with the top pick. Now, the question becomes how does the..."With each day the proverbial smoke gets heavier and heavier. The Arizona Cardinals allegedly convened today to discuss what they plan to do with the top pick. Now, the question becomes how does the decision play out and how will they come to an agreement, or who leaves feeling like they got the short end of the stick. Some notes on smoke right now:The Washington Redskins are allegedly out on Josh Rosen at this point, focusing their assets on Dwayne Haskins per Todd McShay. If the Cardinals decide to pass on Kyler Murray Best Haason Reddick Jersey , the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets are preparing for a bevy of offers from teams. The Cardinals have fielded offers, but some have told me that teams are now moving forward looking to deal with other teams. The Jets and Raiders seem like logical fits for Quinnen Williams, but many believe that Ed Oliver could be the pick at three or four, with a player like Williams and Josh Allen falling out of the top five.Devin White to the Bucs seems to be the most talked about consensus outside of the Cardinals and Murray. There is allegedly an offer on the table from the Chargers that would be for their third round pick and Tyrod Taylor for Josh Rosen. That leads me to my last point. If the Cardinals are only getting low offers for Josh Rosen, then there are only two reasons.Rosen’s stock is a day two pick, teams don’t see a player worth parting with a first round pick. The Cardinals have painted themselves into a trade corner and teams know it.The second part is what I am afraid may have happened. Where the Cardinals put so much smoke out that teams just threw their arms up and said... “Fine, we dare you to use the first pick on Kyler Murray.”So, now the Cardinals can’t trade the first pick and they can’t trade their tenth overall pick quarterback from last year... Or worse, they can make a trade for either one, but for less than normal value. The Raiders and Giants have put feelers out on the cost to move up if the Cardinals do not take Murray, as I said above. Did the Cardinals overplay their hand if they can’t make a deal to move down and one of the Raiders/Giants do make a move up for Murray to two or three? We’ll find out soon enough... Which should be fun, because the smoke is getting thick in here.

His selection for the Titans was first round pick Jeffery Simmons. It was probably a pretty easy pick for McShay with Simmons having top 5 talent and falling all the way to #19.Of course it isn’t THAT easy. There are a lot of other factors in play with Simmons including the assault while in high school and the torn ACL this winter. On the assault, I thought the introductory press conference the Titans did with Simmons that also included Amy Adams Strunk, Jon Robinson and Mike Vrabel gave pretty good insight into Simmons the person. You can listen to some of my thoughts on that on the latest Locked on Titans here. Here were McShay’s thoughts on the Simmons pick: NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have lost their three-time Pro Bowl tight end at least for a big chunk of the season.Quarterback Marcus Mariota is being evaluated after hurting his throwing arm, and two-time Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan is in the concussion protocol. And that’s just the latest injuries for the Titans. Now Tennessee has to see who’s healthy enough for the home opener Sunday against AFC South rival Houston (0-1) and adapt accordingly.“What we’re going to do every week is try to figure out what gives us the best chance to win, personnel wise, who we have available, maybe who we’re playing obviously,” rookie coach Mike Vrabel said Monday.“We’ll be flexible enough to use any personnel that we think will help us win. I don’t think we can commit to anything right now.”The Titans already are down starting right tackle Jack Conklin, who was inactive against Miami as he recovers from a torn left ACL repaired in January. On defense, starting linebacker Derrick Morgan played only 14 snaps in the Titans’ 27-20 loss in Miami as the Titans work the veteran back in after a preseason injury.Tennessee’s top two draft picks also are linebackers, and Rashaan Evans and Harold Landry both missed the opener with injuries.Add to that the Titans are recovering from the league’s longest game since the NFL/AFL merger in 1970 because of two lightning delays that made the matchup in Miami last 7 hours, 8 minutes from the opening kickoff to the final second ticked off.Morgan said it wasn’t easy warming up, cooling down again and again Delanie Walker Jersey , but thinks the Titans learned some mental toughness from the day that wouldn’t end.“Hopefully it never happens again and we never have to play football for eight hours straight,” Morgan said.Mariota is being evaluated after he lost sensation in his right hand after the game from his injured right elbow. He was intercepted twice — both after taking a hit from Dolphins defensive lineman William Hayes following a handoff. Vrabel said they’re hopeful of getting a good report back on Mariota’s arm needing everybody that’s healthy and available.Blaine Gabbert, signed this offseason, replaced Mariota and threw for 117 yards with an interception. The Titans do have rookie Logan Woodside on the practice squad, but will wait for a report on Mariota before deciding whether to add another quarterback.Vrabel did say he told defensive coordinator Dean Pees to take note of how officials are handling quarterbacks carrying out a fake on a run-pass option.“If that’s legal, then we have to do it the same exact way,” Vrabel said.Lewan was resting Monday. Asked about Dolphins lineman Andre Branch’s hit, Vrabel said it probably wasn’t dirty even if the coach thinks his left tackle “absolutely” was targeted. The Titans put tight end Delanie Walker on injured reserve Monday and the tight end will have surgery on his right ankle in the next few days. Walker came into the season with the most catches in the NFL by a tight end between 2013 and 2017. He also has been Mariota’s favorite target, leading the team in receptions in two of the past three years.Vrabel said the Titans will evaluate Walker’s potential to return this season after surgery. Jonnu Smith, a third-round pick out of Florida International in 2017, has 19 receptions and will be the first expected to fill in for Walker. Smith had talked to Walker and said the veteran was in good spirits.“It is some big shoes to fill,” Smith said.

With the Texans’ 2018 season now in the rear-view mirror Martinas Rankin Jersey , it’s time to reflect (see what I did there?) and offer up some constructive criticism of the team.Let’s start with a guy who probably receives more criticism than anyone associated with the Texans—head coach Bill O’Brien.I’ve asked the BRB staff to offer up well thought-out, reasoned, and realistic constructive criticism of O’Brien, and I received a variety of answers.Of course, I had to shoot BFD with multiple horse tranquilizers, hog-tie him, and nearly drown him in a puddle of his own kale puree in order to force “constructive” thoughts from his face on O’Brien Jordan Akins Jersey , because that is just not what he does.Let’s see what the staff came up with:Chris:Brett Kollmann:Matt Burnham:Capt. Ron:Rivers McCown:Matt Weston:BFmf’ndD:Mike Bullock:So there you have it - I... think... maybe some of that was constructive?Possibly? Lil’ bit? This was fun.We will do this again for another coach, or player... What are your constructive criticisms of Bill O’Brien? Use the comments section below to let us know! Oh, no."I could groan on and on and on about the Matt Kalil signing. The Panthers paid an enormous sum of $55 million (over five years) to carry him from Minnesota to Carolina. They signed him because they were tired of having to chip and manipulate their tackles. After Cam Newton was punctured and popped in Super Bowl 50, David Gettelman vowed it couldn’t happen again. And guess what? It happened again. The Panthers still had to chip and slide.Newton was still a submarine captain, constantly playing under pressure. Kalil offered nothing at all as a vertical run blocker. He struggled making blocks in space. He couldn’t hold his own against pass rushers. He could get beat by speed rushes. He never had the punch to control blocks or suffocate power moves. The Panthers shed Kalil’s skin this offseason. The Texans chose to put the remnants back on. When the signing was announced, I, like everyone else Keke Coutee Jersey , assumed this move was just for tackle depth and competition. A whatever signing. I, like everyone, else, am probably wrong. In free agency, you have to pay what it takes to bring a player to your town, not what the player is actually worth. Yet there’s a subtext to contract terms. If a team is willing to pay X amount, they’ll only be willing to if it fills a specific need. Kalil was given a one year Deshaun Watson Jersey , $7.5 million by your Houston Texans. From Spotrac:This contract includes a $2.25 million signing bonus, $2.25 million guaranteed, and an annual salary of $7.5 million that is a combination of a base salary of $3.25 million, the signing bonus, and a roster bonus of $2 million. It’s a contract the Texans can get out of as soon as training camp if Kalil is injured or if he’s truly atrocious. However, with their current tackle situation, and the Texans calling and asking if Jordan Mills is still awak Zach Cunningham Jersey , only injury should keep Kalil off the roster for in 2019. Even more troubling is that a team doesn’t give a player a $7.5 million salary for him to back up and compete for a roster spot. Backups don’t earn that much in this wild and crazy market. Houston offered Matt Kalil the salary of a starting offensive tackle. It’s only April 1st. But as of right now, based on this contract, I’m afraid.I’m very afraid the Houston Texans are expecting Matt Kalil to be their starting left tackle in 2019.

This year’s crop of free agents will be joined by veterans deemed too costly by their current teams in the coming days and weeks. Which pass rushers expected to be released could Seattle target?"With free agency opening on March 14 Cheap Ugochukwu Amadi Jersey , the group of pending free agents will begin to inflate in the coming days and weeks. A wave of players will soon flood the market, deemed too expensive by their current teams to stick around. At some positions, it will be a welcome influx of talent. Count EDGE among those positions which will need a boost, with the majority of the top end talent certain to be retained by their current clubs. Luckily for pass rush needy teams such as the Seattle Seahawks, more talent should soon be made available. Here are the EDGEs at risk of getting cut (or already have been) who could be a fit in Seattle. Olivier VernonAmong all players listed here, Vernon is the most talented and would be the most impactful addition; not a coincidence, he’s also the most likely to remain with his current team. The Giants signed Vernon to a massive, five year, $85M deal with $40M fully guaranteed in 2016. Since then, Vernon’s been a solid, if not great player in New York, with 22 sacks and 28 tackles for loss in three seasons. The Giants can save $11.5M towards the cap if they release Vernon, though they would incur a dead money charge of $8M. With approximately $28M in cap space currently available, and just Landon Collins needing to be re-signed among their premier talent, New York could wait until next offseason when the dead money is much more palatable ($4M). However, Vernon’s been floated by Over The Cap’s Jason Fitzgerald and NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal as a potential cut. If Vernon were to hit the open market, the Seahawks would surely be interested. He’s a true three down lineman capable of playing the run and pass, and would make a terrific partner for Frank Clark. Though Vernon had just seven sacks in 2018, his pressure rate of 11.1 reflects the type of disruptive presence he is, and the type of rusher Pete Carroll desires—someone who affects the quarterback. Robert QuinnA footnote in the Rams’ busy 2018 offseason was a trade that sent Quinn to the Dolphins, ridding themselves of the $22M remaining on his contract at the time. Now, Miami themselves are likely to get rid of Quinn Ugochukwu Amadi Seattle Seahawks Jersey , saving just under $13M in the process. The Dolphins pending release of Quinn is a reflection of the realities of the NFL rather than Quinn’s play last season. In just his second season as a stand up rusher, Quinn registered 6.5 sacks, 35 pressures and nine tackles for loss. More impressive was his NFL-leading pass rush win rate of 40 percent, a staggering number and five percent higher than the next closest rusher (Jadeveon Clowney). Quinn will be in his age-29 season in 2019 and can certainly still help a team. Landing in Seattle would allow Quinn to avoid double teams, like he enjoyed when playing with Aaron Donald, as well as giving him a chance to play his former team in L.A. twice a season. Vinny CurryThe Eagles’ depth inevitably had to take a hit following their Super Bowl victory in 2018, and their inability to retain Curry was a part of that. As a free agent, Curry signed a three year, $23M deal with the Buccaneers, only to be cut after one season. On an entirely terrible defense last season, Curry was a disappointment for Tampa Bay: 2.5 sacks, five tackles for loss and a pressure rate of 9.4. Similar to his former teammate Brandon Graham, a deal between the Seahawks and Curry would likely be one of two EDGE additions this spring, as Curry is much more of a depth addition than difference maker like a Vernon or Ezekiel Ansah. Curry has been a starter in just one season of his career (2017); the most productive season of his career came in a year in which he played 32 percent of the defense’s snaps. Depth in a pass rushing group is a must in the modern NFL, and it’s something Seattle currently lacks. The signing of Curry would be unlikely to inject double-digit sacks into the group, but it would absolutely provide depth. Adrian ClaybornIn writing about free agent pass rushers the Seahawks could target, I likened Graham’s production and situation to Clayborn, who signed a two year, $10M deal with the Patriots last spring. Clayborn plummeted back to Earth after a 9.5-sack 2017, producing just 2.5 sacks and three tackles for loss in 2018. Now, New England can release Clayborn and save $3.9M, while incurring a cap hit of $2M. The Patriots have $15.7M in cap space currently Shaquem Griffin Jersey , and need to sign Trey Flowers, their best defensive player, to a new deal. Clayborn is a reliable edge defender who can play against the run and pass, but could be released to make the room needed to round out a roster expected to make another Super Bowl charge.Clayborn isn’t a flashy player by any stretch, nor would he particularly move the needle. However, in the name of restoring the depth that left Seattle, he would be a solid addition to the Seahawks rotation. Vic BeasleyThrough four seasons in the NFL, Beasley has remained an entirely puzzling player. Though he wasn’t aided by Dan Quinn and the Falcons repeatedly switching his position, from defensive end to linebacker and back again, Beasley has thoroughly disappointed in three of his four seasons. The one season he didn’t disappoint, however, Beasley led the league in sacks with 15.5 and was named a first-team All-Pro.Now set to play 2019 under his fifth-year option worth $12.8M, it’s expected Atlanta will cut ties with the former first round selection. If Beasley does indeed hit the open market, he could be a highly intriguing option for Seattle. He has familiarity with Carroll’s defense, having played his entire career in Quinn’s system. Additionally, he clears all of the Seahawks’ athletic thresholds at the position—with the lone exception being arm length, where he falls 1/2” short—and is a 99th percentile athlete. Above all else, Seattle prioritizes the three cone drill with their EDGEs. Three times in the Carroll era, the Seahawks have taken the pass rusher who posted the best three cone in their class. Frank Clark was one of those three, but only because Beasley and his three cone of 6.91 seconds was grouped in with the linebackers, as opposed to defensive linemen. The fit is obvious, as is the need for Seattle. Beasley has an element of risk to him Tre Flowers Jersey , but the upside is extremely high. It’s worth noting another big name pass rusher likely to be cut, Justin Houston, would be extremely unlikely to land with the Seahawks. The reason for Houston’s expected release—besides his $21.1M cap hit—is his fit in new Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s 4-3 defense. If Seattle’s going to give a free agent pass rusher a sizable deal, regardless of length, it isn’t going to be for one who’s a questionable fit within the scheme. Despite the likelihood of the top pass rushers being re-signed by their current teams, the Seahawks and their $51.9M in cap space should have an impressive group of EDGEs to target next month. Retaining Clark is the top priority, and once that’s accomplished, Seattle can begin to bring in some help for him.Amara Darboh will get second chance with Seahawks in 2019 As a rookie, Amara Darboh couldn’t win a significant role on the offense for the Seattle Seahawks. Going into year two, Darboh wasn’t healthy enough to compete in a group that is currently six-deep after promoting Keenany Reynolds, so he barely even had his chance at redemption. By next year, he could get a second opportunity to make a difference on the Seahawks. On Friday, Darboh failed a physical with the New England Patriots and reverted back to Seattle’s injured reserve. He is not eligible to play this season. That should give the Seahawks to keep Darboh in the fold for the next offseason. He’ll cost $400,000 against the cap this season, per a tweet I read by our own John Gilbert.Darboh was a third round pick in 2017 out of Michigan. He played sparingly last year and failed to catch up this offseason as the team became more and more aware of the talent of David Moore, also a member of the 2017 draft class. The Seahawks currently have Tyler Lockett, Doug Baldwin, and Moore all under contract for the next few seasons, with Jaron Brown signed through 2019 and Brandon Marshall potentially retiring next year, as he’s mentioned as a possibility.

Aaron Rodgers weighs in on national anthem Davante Adams Jersey White , NFL rules changes, & more One thing that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has made perfectly clear over the past several years is that he is much more than just a football player. Rodgers is an excellent golfer and has joined the ownership group of the Milwaukee Bucks, cementing his commitment to sports in the state of Wisconsin. He is also a dedicated member of the community in the area, becoming the most prominent public face of the MACC Fund and recently discussing his ongoing support of the Wounded Warrior Project. With these factors in mind, then, it should come as no surprise that Rodgers has strong opinions about the NFL’s treatment of players both on and off the field, the league’s handling of players’ social justice-related demonstrations, and general current events around the United States. Rodgers shared those opinions in interviews with NFL Network’s Michael Silver and The Ringer’s Kevin Clark, which were both published this week, and his comments are worth examination. In Clark’s piece, Rodgers dives more significantly into the NFL and its own specific issues. Clark’s premise revolves around what Rodgers would try to do if he were in Roger Goodell’s shoes as league commissioner, and he had plenty to say. However, one of the most profound statements he made involves the inconsistencies with the league’s owners’ reaction to players who protest about social issues during the national anthem: “If you’re going to take the focus off of what the protest was really about—it was never about the anthem, it was never about the troops, it was about social equality and racial injustice—then make it all about the anthem.” Rodgers points out that other activities continue on in NFL stadiums while the anthem is played, and he also looked back on the period early in his career: “We never came out for the anthem back in the day ... the messaging has been changed. If the owners see it as all about the flag and the anthem, everybody should be held to the same standard.”Rodgers appears to be in favor of everyone in the stadium being treated the same, rather than just the players on the field. He likes the idea of stopping food and merchandise sales during the performance, for example. But in talking to Silver Clay Matthews Jersey White , Rodgers explored the protests themselves in more detail, emphasizing that he and his fellow players “love and support and appreciate the troops” in the US military. Rodgers’ actions with the Wounded Warrior Project in particular illustrate that, even though it is the type of proactive work that often goes unseen or ignored; as he says, “the good stuff doesn’t get the headlines.” Rodgers also says that he refuses to engage with fans — or the current president — when they criticize him or other players for their actions or statements; in his words, doing so would be “giving credence to an opinion and value to an opinion that’s way off base — because they’ve missed the point of what this was all about.”Of course, as a football player, Rodgers has plenty of thoughts on how the league he plays in runs things as well. Furthermore, going through a contract negotiation, as he is now, is giving him a particularly informed opinion on the league’s financial setup under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. Some of the ideas he suggested are borrowed from the NBA, which is hardly a coincidence. He mentioned things like a soft salary cap, eliminating the franchise tag, implementing veteran-friendly contract options, and others. He also would like to see more communication between the league and players on all rules changes — another area where the NBA has taken the lead under current commissioner Adam Silver.Interestingly, though Rodgers is all for improving player safety in football, there are limits to how far he would be willing to go. The college football targeting rule, for one thing, is something he dislikes (saying “the enforcement lacks a little bit of oversight”), and he’s not a fan of the new kickoff rules. He’s also pleased with the progress on head injuries Aaron Ripkowski Jersey , saing “I don’t know much more you can do on that except fining teams who don’t adhere to the protocol.”Oh, and of course the guy with the iconic championship belt celebration is fully supportive of players being able to express themselves after touchdowns. “You’ve got to respect celebrations. You love them, look forward to them,” he said. “Let guys be guys.”Let them, indeed.Check out the articles below for much more of Rodgers’ comments on these issues:We Made Aaron Rodgers NFL Commissioner for a Day | The RingerRodgers supports LeBron, implores players to ignore Trump jabs | NFL.comPackers’ defense dominates Josh Allen, Bills in 22-0 shutout win After a disastrous stretch of defense, blowing a huge lead to the Vikings and allowing Washington to build one in the first half, Josh Allen was exactly who Mike Pettine and Co. needed to see. While Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense couldn’t quite get rolling, a dominating defense shutout the Bills, forcing three turnovers, and notching seven sacksto give Green Bay a much needed 22-0 win in Week 4. The rookie Bills quarterback finished the first half 5/19 for 58 yards en route to a Bills record for incompletions in a first half, to go with a heinous arm punt picked off by Jaire Alexander to wipe points off the board. In six possessions, the Packers forced four three-and-outs and the Alexander pick to shut out a Buffalo team that had jumped all over the Vikings in Week 3. Green Bay jumped out to a 16-0 first-half lead a week after the Bills took a 27-0 margin into halftime in Minnesota. The Packers’ defense had only forced three turnovers in the first three weeks, one of the worst figures in the league. Allen was generous in changing that, throwing two picksand sailing passes over the heads or at the feet of his receivers. Rodgers, looking much healthier but not significantly sharper than a week ago, bought time and made plays in ways we are used to seeing. He also missed some easy throws, threw his first interception of the season and nearly threw a pick-six on fourth down in the second half. Not having Randall Cobb clearly changed the gameplan for the Packers as they rotated running backs Mike Daniels Jersey White , tried to feed Jimmy Graham, and couldn’t quite generate the spark they were looking for. An opening-drive touchdown ended in a doinked extra point by Mason Crosby, a harbinger of things to come for the offense. They were consistently able to move the ball and get in position, only to come up just a little short. Costly drops and some bad throws stymied the Green Bay passing attack, with Rodgers making a number of key plays with his legs and just enough big-time throws to put points on the board. It was enough Sunday against a young Bills squad, but will have to be better for the Packers to achieve their goal of contending for a Super Bowl. Missing a hurt Cobb, the Packers lost Geronimo Allison to a concussion in the second half, forcing a pair of rookies into key roles for Green Bay’s offense. A lack continuity, experience, and rhythm held Rodgers and his group back. So did not playing Aaron Jones more often. He finished with 65 yards on 11 carries, a 5.9 average, and at this point the only person who doesn’t see he’s the best running back in town is McCarthy. Playing Lance Kendricks for any reason remains a head-scratching decision. For all the scheme improvements, some befuddling personnel decisions linger. Two promising third-quarter drives stalled out, resulting in a field goal and a turnover on downs thanks to the same problems that plagued the Packers in Week 3: drops, off-target throws, and some blown protections. In a game that should have been something like 30-0, the Packers held just a 19-0 advantage through three quarters. But the defense came through over and over. Once the lead was double-digits, Mike Pettine began to dial up pressure to confuse and befuddle Allen, ending in seven sacks and 11 quarterback hits for this Packers defense in its first game with Muhammad Wilkerson. Even Kyler Fackrell got into the act with a trio of sacks J'Mon Moore Jersey White , disrupting in the Buffalo backfield and flummoxing Allen into missed throws and turnovers. Relying on the defense to pick up a streaky offense wasn’t a luxury the Packers have recently been afforded. Buffalo hardly represents a telling test, but Week 4’s performance serves as a step in the right direction for this young group. Blasting Josh Allen doesn’t prove their worth, but not doing so would have been solid evidence of their failures. And speaking of Super Bowl quality, the last shutout for the Packers was 2010, the year they last hoisted the Lombardi trophy. Rookies Josh Jackson and Jaire Alexander shined in coverage against a pedestrian group of receivers. In fact, a receiver didn’t post a reception until late in the first half for the Bills. The much-maligned Ha Ha Clinton-Dix snagged a pick early in the second half, his third straight game with an interception. Even without Kevin King, this Green Bay secondary proved it has some playmakers, a welcome change from recent vintages of this defense. Through four weeks, the Packers offense has faced four potential top-10 defenses, but the offense simply isn’t where we expect it to be a month from now. This isn’t a Super Bowl offense right now. But if the defense can build on this performance against a quarterback like Matthew Stafford — not just Josh Allen — those offense struggles are not only mitigated, but provide a boost for when Rodgers and his band of merry men finally emerge from Sherwood Forest to once again pillage and plunder. This defense, for its part, isn’t out of the woods itself, but showed the potential to dominate a matchup, even against a rookie. They needed a get-right game and they got one. Whether or not they can get right on their own could very well decide the fate of the Packers this season.

NASHVILLE Womens Josh Kline Jersey , Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee’s three-game skid is over, and the Titans are back to .500 after a big road victory. But before they can catch their breath, the Titans have a short week before they host the surging New England Patriots in what will be Tennessee’s lone home game in November.Coach Mike Vrabel understands the challenge — and opportunity — the Titans have going against his old coach, Bill Belichick.“We’ve just gotten ourselves to the surface where there’s a little bit of air, a little bit of water,” Vrabel said Tuesday. “You’re kind of taking a little bit of both in and you can’t survive there for long. But you can survive there for a few minutes. And so we got to make the next decision to see if we can get our heads completely above water.”The Titans (4-4) still trail the Houston Texans (6-3) inside the AFC South, but their 28-14 victory in Dallas on Monday night put Tennessee into the sixth and final playoff spot in the AFC for now. The Titans shook off a horrific start with two fumbles by Marcus Mariota on their first two drives to turn score a season-high in points after managing just 31 points all of October.Vrabel credited the Titans with shaking off that start. Tennessee turned two turnovers into 14 points, came up with five sacks and held Ezekiel Elliott to just 61 yards rushing.Offensively, the young Titans showed serious signs of progress in offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur’s scheme. They converted 11 of 14 attempts on third down for a 78.6 percent rate that was the best in the NFL this season and tied for the league’s highest in the past three years. The Titans tied up the game at 7-7 with the franchise’s longest drive since Dec. 9, 2012, using up 8 minutes, 55 seconds.Tennessee scored touchdowns on four of five trips inside the Dallas 20 against a Cowboys defense that came in as the NFL’s second stingiest in the red zone. Mariota also completed passes to nine different receivers and had a season-high 119.9 passer rating throwing for 240 yards and two touchdowns. He ran for 32 more yards and another score.“I hope it’s that guys are understanding where they fit, what they need to do to get open and understand when they get open, Marcus is going to try to get them the ball,” Vrabel said of the Titans’ offense.Left tackle Taylor Lewan, who spoke about the Titans deserving respect after a 3-1 start, said he is just relieved to win a game and get back to .500.“I’ll definitely keep my (expletive) mouth shut from now on about that kind of stuff,” Lewan said. “Daddy learned his lesson.”Cornerback Logan Ryan said the Titans knew they were in a must-win situation in Dallas and that one win in the NFL can turn things around.“It was a huge win,” Ryan said after the game. “Now we know we’ve got a tough test next week, and we will be ready.”The Titans host the Patriots (7-2) on Sunday before heading back on the road to Indianapolis and Houston. The Patriots routed Tennessee 35-14 in an AFC divisional game last January. Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk fired Mike Mularkey after that game and chose Vrabel to take this franchise further.“We have to just get our players as ready as we can for the game,” Vrabel said.Notes: Vrabel made it clear he didn’t like safety Kevin Byard celebrating his interception by running to the star at midfield and posing like Terrell Owens 18 years ago. The coach said he plans to talk again with the safety and the Titans on Wednesday, and Vrabel said he wants them to celebrate with each other. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Some might call Tennessee’s push for a second straight playoff berth desperate. Three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan suggests a different motivation for the Titans.“Everyone here has an understanding of what’s at stake and we’re all willing to do what we’ve been doing the past few weeks to get it done,” Lewan said. “I don’t think it matters who gets the credit. … It’s been a cool year. We just got to keep it going.”Winners of three straight, the Titans (8-6) need to beat Washington on Saturday and Indianapolis in the regular-season finale and have either Baltimore or Pittsburgh lose to nab the AFC’s sixth and final seed.Despite an injury-filled season, the Redskins (7-7) still have playoff hopes too, a game back of Dallas in the NFC East with a wild-card slot more likely if they win out.“We all got to be ready to step our game up two more notches,” said Josh Johnson, the fourth different quarterback to start for Washington this season. “This is a big game.”The Titans are coming off their first shutout in 18 years after downing the Giants 17-0 last weekend. They also can finish off a sweep of the NFC East with a win Saturday. The NFL’s No. 2 scoring defense is allowing only 18.1 points a game Kenny Vaccaro Jersey , and the Titans have given up only one offensive touchdown over the past three games.Washington snapped a four-game skid, beating Jacksonville 16-13 last weekend . Redskins coach Jay Gruden says the Titans present a much different defensive challenge for Johnson.“He’s got to handle the progressions, the snap counts, the formations, the blitz looks that they give you, which I can’t even tell you how many blitzes there are,” Gruden said. “There are about 3,000 we watched, so it’s going to be a great challenge for him.”Some things to know about Washington and the Titans:RUN HENRY RUNThe big question is what will Titans running back Derrick Henry do next after piling up a franchise-record 408 yards and six touchdowns rushing over his past two games. Henry needs 175 yards to match Hall of Famer Earl Campbell’s franchise record of 583 yards rushing in three straight games. Henry needs one TD to match Campbell’s seven TDs between Sept. 30, 1979 and Oct. 14, 1979.The Redskins, fourth in the NFL with 25 takeaways, have allowed at least 130 yards rushing in each of their past five games.“It’s always a welcome (sight) when you’re able to run the football in this league,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel said.AP ACCOMPLISHMENTWashington running back Adrian Peterson needs 77 more yards rushing to reach 1,000 for the season for the first time since 2015 when he ran for 1,485 for the Minnesota Vikings. Picked up by Washington in August, Peterson has started all 14 games for the Redskins, rushing for seven TDs. No one wants to see him reach the milestone more than Pro Bowl left tackle and fellow Oklahoma Sooner Trent Williams.“It’s an outstanding accomplishment for a guy who was said to not have anything left,” Williams said.MORE TITANIC DTennessee has allowed only one running back to reach 100 yards or more this season, and Houston’s Lamar Miller got 97 on one play. They held Ezekiel Elliott to 61 yards on Nov. 5, Leonard Fournette to 36 yards on Dec. 6 and Giants rookie Saquon Barkley to a 2.2-yard average and only 31 yards last week.HALFTIME BREAKTHROUGHWhen Johnson led Washington to a fourth-quarter comeback and a victory last week, he did something no quarterback had done for the franchise since 2016 after rallying from a 10-3 halftime deficit. Washington had lost all seven games this season when trailing at the half with the Redskins’ previous victory when trailing at the break coming in 2016 in Philadelphia, a streak of 15 games. Johnson, who made his first start since 2011, wants to build on that momentum in his seventh career start.MISSINGThe Titans’ defense is seriously hurting. Starting cornerback Logan Ryan was put on injured reserve Tuesday after breaking his left leg. Linebacker Brian Orakpo, who missed the Giants’ game, has yet to practice with an injured elbow, while four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jurrell Casey has missed practice this week with an injured knee. Safety Kenny Vaccaro is working through the concussion protocol.Washington put safety Montae Nicholson on the NFL reserve/non-football injury list Wednesday after he was arrested early Tuesday.

The Bucs are heading to the Windy City to take on the Bears after suffering their first defeat of the season. Inconsistent play helped the Steelers build an early first half lead that Tampa Bay couldn’t overcome and now they are 2-1. Things won’t get any easier this week. The Bears field one of the league’s top defenses and they are no joke. The first team to 20 points will most likely be the winner in what should be a dog fight of a game. OverviewAll-time series record: The Bears lead the all-time series 38-20. Tampa Bay has won the past two meetings: 36-10 in 2016 and 29-7 in 2017. The Bucs are 14-17 at home and 6-21 on the road. Longest win streak: Chicago won 12 in a row from 1983-1988.Peyton Barber needs to get going this weekend.Photo by Wesley Hitt/Getty ImagesLargest victory: Tampa Bay crushed the Bears 41-0 in 2000.2018 offensive and defensive rankings: Tampa Bay still owns the league’s best offense (1st pass Chandler Catanzaro Jersey , 30th run) but they slid to 31st in total defense (31st pass, 3rd run). The Bears are 26th in total offense (28th pass, 12th run) and fifth in total defense (11th pass, 2nd run). What to watch forKhalil Mack vs. the Bucs’ offense: Do I really need to explain? Mack is the best defender in the NFL not named Aaron Donald. Tampa Bay’s pass protection: They were exposed against the Steelers. See above regarding concerns in that area. Chicago’s offense vs. the Bucs’ defense: The Bears move the ball mainly on the ground, but Mitchell Trubisky is waiting for his first breakout opportunity. The Bucs can stop the Bears’ ground attack, but how will they fare in the secondary?Ryan Fitzpatrick: It doesn’t seem likely, but if Fitzpatrick struggles and the Bucs are down on the scoreboard - will Tampa Bay turn to Jameis Winston? How will the Bucs respond: The Bucs just suffered their first loss of the season. It will be interesting to see how they respond with a short week on the road. Impact PlayersTampa BayQB Ryan Fitzpatrick: He will be they key to keeping this offense moving.RB Peyton Barber: The Bucs have to find a way to get the running game going.T Demar Dotson and T Donovan Smith: They will be responsible for keeping Mack out of the backfield. LB Lavonte David: He will need to keep Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen from making plays. CB Brent Grimes: Last week’s performance was pretty bad. Grimes needs a big bounce back this week. S Jordan Whitehead: Will the Bears be able to expose the rookie?Khalil Mack is an absolute monsterPhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesChicagoQB Mitchell Trubisky: Trubisky may have to shoulder the load for the offense this weekend.RB Jordan Howard: Chicago’s bell cow will face a tough test against the Bucs.WR Allen Robinson II: He was brought in to be a difference-maker and could have his best game as a Bear on Sunday.DE Khalil Mack: If you don’t know about Mack, then you need to educate yourself, quickly.DT Akiem Hicks: Mack isn’t the only player on the defensive line that is disruptive. S Eddie Jackson: One of the league’s best young safeties, Jackson will have his work cut out for him this weekend. Cool StatsThrough three games, Tampa Bay leads the league in total yards per game, passing yards per game, yards per play and tied for third in points scored. The Buccaneers have scored 102 points through the first three games, a team record for points scored through the first three games.Dating back to last season, the Buccaneers have totaled at least 425 yards of offense in each of their past four games, extending their franchise record. They join the L.A. Chargers (11/19/17-12/10/17) as the only two teams to post at least four consecutive games with at least 425 yards of offense since 2015.The Buccaneers have totaled at least 390 net passing yards in each of their past three games. They join the Pittsburgh Steelers (11/8/1511/29/15) as the only teams in NFL history to post three consecutive games with at least 390 net passing yards.Per NFL Communications and Elias Sports Bureau, Mike Evans (367 yards, three touchdowns) and DeSean Jackson (312 yards, three touchdowns) are the first pair of teammates in NFL history to each record at least 300 receiving yards and three touchdown catches through their team’s first three games of a season.Mike Evans is off to an amazing start and needs to keep it going against the BearsPhoto by Brian Blanco/Getty ImagesGame OutlookThis is going to be a dog fight. The Bears currently represent the old-style NFL, winning with defense and a rushing attack, while the Bucs represent the new-style NFL. It will be interesting to see how much the game has really changed in terms of how to win. The odds aren’t in Tampa Bay’s favor in Vegas nor in reality. Going on the road on a short week to play in one of the most hostile environments is a recipe for disaster in the NFL. How will this Bucs team respond? This game could go either way in the end. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defending their home stadium by defeating the Carolina Panthers 24-17 in Week 13 of the 2018 NFL Regular Season. Here are the five key factors which led the team to victory John Lynch Jersey , and it should come as no surprise the majority of them came from the defensive side of the ball. Here we go!THE PLAY: SEMINOLE INCEPTIONPhoto by Will Vragovic/Getty ImagesWith the Buccaneers leading 10-7, the game had bogged down a bit after three of the game’s first four drives ended in points.Five straight drives ended with punts or turnovers, but the Carolina Panthers were threatening at the Tampa Bay 25-yard line after moving the ball 50-yards on just six plays. With 1:16 remaining in the first half, rookie wide receiver D.J. Moore was targeted on the pass by quarterback Cam Newton who - it would appear - read man coverage trying to hit Moore on a slant.Newton might go to bed thinking Elliott was living in his head as the cornerback drifted out of his slot alignment and right into the path of the ball.By the time running back Christian McCaffrey chased down the Florida State product, Elliott had returned the interception all the way back to the Carolina 32-yard line, instantly eating almost every yard his defense had surrendered on the drive.Five plays later, the Bucs broke the scoreless run in the game themselves, but we’ll get to that in just a moment. For an offense which thrives on rhythm and pace, this play was the second interception on the day for the Buccaneers defense and went a long way to preventing the Panthers from ever looking fully comfortable in the contest.THE PLAY: WHO DOES NO. 2 WORK FOR?Kim Klement-USA TODAY SportsTwo weeks ago, effort from the second receiver position was questioned and in some cases hotly debated. This weekend, Chris Godwin got his opportunity to play second-chair behind Mike Evans, and any questions of his own efforts wouldn’t be questioned after this pair of plays by the second-year receiver. The first play will go down in the game book as a simple incompletion, but it was much more than that.Jameis Winston has been playing better since being re-inserted into the starting lineup, but this pass had the potential to bring all of the angst and negativity swarming back upon the gunslinger as he threw a pass right into the breadbasket of Carolina safety Eric Reid. While Reid was likely envisioning his own attempt to run the interception back, Godwin had other plans. But if anyone thought his efforts on the play wouldn’t be replicated again, they were wrong, and it paid off for his team in a much more measurable way one play later. With his quarterback scrambling and the first half winding down, Godwin found space in the back of the end zone and gave Winston a shot at completing a critical scoring pass. The 13-yard touchdown was his first since October 14th against the Atlanta Falcons, and after the Cairo Santos extra point it gave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a 17-7 lead heading into halftime.THE PLAY: NOT YOUR GRANDFATHER’S DPIKim Klement-USA TODAY SportsAfter the Carolina Panthers opened the second-half with afield goal, it was imperative the Buccaneers’ offense find a way to respond. And respond they did, but they had a little help along the way.Following a second holding penalty called against the Bucs on the drive Jason Pierre-Paul Jersey , the offense had the ball and a 1st-and-20 from their own 47-yard line eight plays after they began the drive from their own 25-yard line. Now, conventional wisdom says the Bucs should have gone with a fairly conservative play call to try and get some or all of the penalty yards back and then work from second and manageable from there.Well, this team is anything but conventional, and on the first down play Winston took a nearly 70-yard shot into the end zone targeting wide receiver Bobo Wilson. Because. Well, why not?The pass fell incomplete and following some incidental contact from Panthers cornerback Donte Jackson, Tampa Bay became the benefactor of a 52-yard defensive pass interference penalty which put the ball on their opponent’s 1-yard line, and gave them a first-and-goal.Peyton Barber punched the ball into the end zone on the very next play, and the Buccaneers successfully answered Carolina’s second-half opening salvo with a big one of their own.THE PLAY: GMAC GETS THE ASSISTPhoto by Will Vragovic/Getty ImagesGerald McCoy finished the game with one tackle. Not for a loss either. Just a run-of-the-mill tackle. No sacks. One tackle. However, it’s his unmeasured contributions which add him to the list this week.On both of Newton’s second-half turnovers - both coming on the Tampa Bay side of the field with the Panthers down just one score - McCoy applied the pressure and quarterback hit which caused the passes to come out lame, and directly led to both critical takeaways for the defense. They may not get notched on official stat sheets, and you might have to go to third-party sites to find the stats at all, but his pressure on the opposing quarterback in key fourth quarter moments directly led to the team’s victory.THE PLAY: WHO?Kim Klement-USA TODAY SportsAndrew Adams. That’s who.The 26-year old from Georgia played his collegiate ball at Connecticut and had one career interception coming into Week 13 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His lone interception prior to this weekend came in 2016 when he appeared in fourteen games for the New York Giants. So, unless you’re Jason Pierre-Paul, you probably didn’t have a good grasp of who Adams is as a player.Well, everyone knows who he is now. After three interceptions against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers, Adams will surely be in the running for some Player of the Week honors, and his name will be on the lips of Bucs fans everywhere. If his ball awareness and interceptions weren’t enough, Adams also gave full credit to the defensive line and his coaches for setting the defense up for success by getting consistent pressure on Newton all afternoon. Classy move, young man.And that is how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Carolina Panthers in Week 13.

As had long been expected after reports emerged in January that it would be the case, Ivan Lewis was hired to be the team’s head strength and conditioning coach. Jamie Yanchar, who had reportedly been let go with the rest of the strength and conditioning team following the 2018 season, will return for 2019, and he will be joined by Mark Phillipp, Thomas Garcia and Grant Steen. In addition, the team announced two new offensive coaches. First, former Seahawks backup quarterback Austin Davis will work under Brian Schottenheimer as an offensive assistant. In that role he will replace Steve Shimko who was promoted to assistant quarterbacks coach. The team also added Brad Idzik to the staff, who had spent the last five years at Stanford in various roles, including volunteer offensive assistant for 2014, offensive and special teams graduate assistant from 2015 through 2017 and offensive graduate assistant in 2018. Idzik is the son of John Idzik, who worked in the Hawks from office for several years before moving on to become the general manager of the New York Jets in 2013. For those fans who were hoping that there would be a change made at the special teams coordinator position, there will be no such adjustment. Brian Schneider is still the special teams coordinator. However, gone from the 2018 coaching staff are Carl Smith, was hired as the quarterbacks coach for the Houston Texans and Will Harriger. Harriger is now an offensive assistant for the Atlanta Falcons, where he is reunited with Dan Quinn, with whom he worked with for the 2014 season in Seattle. They can’t fully celebrate quite yet, but the Rams are one win away from their first Super Bowl championship since 1999, a two-decades long wait that few expected to take this long considering the dominant play of Kurt Warner Ethan Pocic Jersey Green , Marshall Faulk, Orlando Pace and many others during that historic season. In the 17 seasons since their last conference championship, the Rams have endured:A 12-year playoff droughtAn NFL-record 65 losses over a five-year spanA move from St. Louis back to Los AngelesJeff FisherJason Smith, Sam Bradford, Tavon Austin, and Greg RobinsonFive seasons of 12 or more lossesThat trend finally turned around after the risky move to trade up for Jared Goff (which came four years after trading down with Washington when they wanted Robert Griffin III, a move that yielded the Rams virtually nothing in return) and the acquisition of Sean McVay as the football phenom who has set trends in motion league-wide that could end up being spread and shared for years and years. Two seasons after finishing 4-12 as the lowest scoring team in the NFL, LA has ranked first and second in scoring over the last two years and they’re now one win away from a championship. They’re setup to be a powerhouse in the division, the conference, and the league for potentially many years to come. While the Rams often acted as the doormat, or at least a cozy 7-9 foyer for the rest of the NFC West for most of the last two decades, their NFC West rivals have also enjoyed varying levels of success. That seems likely to continue as well, as the division has possibly been the most consistently successful over the last 10 years and is poised to continue that run for the foreseeable future.Los Angeles winning the NFC on Sunday now makes it that four of the last seven conference winners have come from their division: the Seattle Seahawks in 2013 and 2014, and the San Francisco 49ers in 2012. As far as NFC Championship games go, you have the 49ers in 2011, 2012, and 2013, the Seahawks in 2013 and 2014, and the Arizona Cardinals in 2015.That means that along with the Rams, there have been seven NFC West teams in the NFC Championship game over the last eight years.Compare that to the other divisions:Since 2011, the NFC East has sent two teams (Eagles, Giants), the NFC North has sent three (Packers twice Womens Doug Baldwin Jersey , Vikings), and the NFC South has sent four (Falcons twice, Panthers, Saints). Compare that to three trips for San Francisco alone, two for Seattle, and one each for Arizona and Los Angeles. On the flipside to the argument that the NFC West is “the best division right now” is of course that the Cardinals and 49ers are picking first and second in the draft this year after flopping to perhaps the two worst teams in football. However, even those teams have something to hope for in the next two to three years.San Francisco is going into year three of the Kyle Shanahan-John Lynch movement and are hoping that the return of Jimmy Garoppolo gives them the potent offense that Shanahan envisioned or pitched when he signed there. The 49ers also still have a ton of money to spend in free agency and good young players like DeForest Buckner. Mike McGlinchey, and the not-so-young but still effective Richard Sherman. The Niners and Cardinals are virtually tied for most effective cap space in the NFC. Arizona has a new head coach/philosophy with Kliff Kingsbury and a soon-to-be 22-year-old Josh Rosen at quarterback. They also hold the most power in a draft that may be more loaded on defensive talent than any we’ve seen in years. So loaded in fact that the Cardinals could probably trade down if a team falls in love with a quarterback and still land an elite defensive player while adding more valuable draft picks.Arizona had the worst offense in the NFL this year, but so did the Rams two years ago.Of course, that just leaves the Seahawks, who are coming off of a 10-6 season and a seventh trip to the postseason in nine years under Pete Carroll. They’ve got a perennial MVP candidate in Russell Wilson, a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate in Bobby Wagner, and the third-most cap space in the conference. I expect Seattle to use most of that money to retain their own guys (Frank Clark the highest priority among them) but they could be one offensive lineman and one defensive lineman away from getting back to the Super Bowl. (This is just an opinion I have and it’s not one I’d be willing to stake much on, just a thought.)Whether it’s the Rams this year or the Seahawks in 2013, the NFC West has produced championship teams despite their often being two to three championship-caliber teams within the division at any given time. LA’s opponent, the New England Patriots, can’t say the same.In the 19 seasons since their first Super Bowl win, which as you know happened against the Rams and ultimately became their last good year until McVay arrived, the Patriots have seen the Buffalo Bills make the playoffs just once, the Miami Dolphins go three times, and the New York Jets make it six times; the Bills and Dolphins have ZERO playoff wins in that time, while the Jets have six, but none since 2010.The AFC North has produced the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens Ed Dickson Jersey Green , but the Cincinnati Bengals haven’t won a playoff game since 1990 and the Cleveland Browns haven’t done that since 1994 and haven’t appeared in the postseason since 2002.The AFC South notoriously produced a 14 or 15-loss team for several years, including stretches of seasons by the Jacksonville Jaguars that rivaled those of the Rams. The Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, and Houston Texans have no championships and their only Super Bowl appearance at all was the Titans ‘99 loss to those Rams. The Indianapolis Colts have the lone two titles of those four franchises, including just one in the Peyton Manning era.The Denver Broncos brought a Super Bowl title to the AFC West in 2015, but the disappointments continue for the Kansas City Chiefs, LA Chargers, and Oakland-soon-to-be-Vegas Raiders.Unless you count the Patriots just completely dominating the AFC over the last 18 years (winning the conference in half of those seasons), no division has been as consistently-involved in the Super Bowl than the NFC West. Going back to 2005, you have the Seahawks also making the Super Bowl that season, and the Arizona Cardinals giving the Steelers a run in 2008. On the flipside, the NFC East has won the Super Bowl in 2007, 2011, and 2017, which has meant more actual wins than the NFC West, since the Seahawks are still the only team in the division to actually close it out. That could change in two weeks for the Rams, but either way, the division seems ready to continue the “arms race” in 2019, it’s just a matter of which team those arms belong to. You never know who could get next.

It’s been a brutal week in California Colin Kaepernick Jersey White , as wildfires have been raging around the state. In northern California, Butte County continues to deal with the Camp Fire, which destroyed the town of Paradise, and firefighters continue to try and contain. The fire has impacted people across the state, including those connected to the San Francisco 49ers. The team’s assistant strength coach Shane Wallen saw his family’s home burned down in Paradise, and the mother of beat writer Matt Maiocco lost her home as well. Additionally, 49ers Hub writer Jay Moore and his family lost their home and all their possessions. The 49ers organization is stepping up amidst the devastation. The team named the North Valley Community Foundation as the recipient of proceeds from it’s 50/50 Raffle during tonight’s Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants. The 50/50 raffle has half the net proceeds for the game-day raffle go to the winning ticket-holder and half the net proceeds go to a different charity each week. The 49ers announced they will provide a dollar for dollar match for the contributions raised by fans during the game.Additionally, six players will donate autographed, game-worn jerseys from tonight’s game to be auctioned off. When the link to bid is live, I’ll drop it in here. The 49ers are conducting an internal employee collection drive for essential items to support the community, and http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-matt-breida-jersey , “will continue to monitor the situation in Butte County and surrounding areas during this devastating time, and are prepared to take further action as more specific needs on the ground emerge.”Finally, the 49ers also invited out the Paradise High School football team for tonight’s game. Many of the players lost their homes in the fires, and were forced to forfeit their playoff game last week. The team said these are “initial plans,” so I imagine there will be more coming from the organization in the days and weeks ahead. Personally, I would love to see all the owners of California major league sports teams making donations independent of these kinds of things. What the 49ers are doing tonight is important and will raise much needed money, but considering the kind of wealth in California, particularly in Silicon Valley, we need to see more people stepping up to help these devastated communities. The Vegas Golden Nights lost in overtime to the San Jose Sharks Joe Staley Jersey ,once again proving that hockey playoffs are the best in all of sports (yes, even football). The 49ers were in abundance at the game as seen below (thanks to our own Alex Tran): So the 49ers had a strong presence at the game, but wait until the Sharks won. If you didn’t see the celebration, look no further than Joe Staley, Mike McGlinchey and others prancing around. Bay Area sports has been pretty big and when one team in the area gets into the playoffs and such, you see the other teams throwing a fit. If the 49ers make the playoffs in 2019, or 2020, I’m curious about what craziness we’ll see from the San Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks if they host a playoff game.
